Ridley Scott's Thelma & Louise sees two women in trouble simply because they try to protect each other. Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis both give deeply moving performances in this funny and sweet story of two best friends on the run.

Frances Ha continues to be the best film of Noah Baumbach and Greta Gerwig's respective careers. Co-writer Gerwig stars as the titular character, whose personal ups and downs—and especially those with her best friend Sophie—are chronicled in the beautiful, monochromatic film.
