Magnolia Pictures has provided ComingSoon.net with an exclusive clip from Thomas Vinterberg’s dramatic thriller The Hunt, starring Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale, “Hannibal”).
In the Danish film by the director of The Celebration, Mikkelsen plays a kindergarten school teacher who is falsely accused of wrongdoing by one of his young wards and suddenly finds his entire community of friends turned against him.
In ComingSoon.net’s 8/10 Review from last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, MIkkelsen’s performance in the film was called one of his “finer moments as an actor.” Mikkelsen was awarded for his acting performance in the film at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival and the screenplay by Vinterberg and Tobias Lindholm received a European Film Award.
In the clip, which you can watch in the viewer below, we see what happens when Mikkelsen’s Lucas goes into his local supermarket and is confronted by one of his friends, a butcher, who doesn’t want the accused child molester in his store. Things go downhill from there.
The Hunt opens in New York and Los Angeles on Friday, July 12. You can find the full list of theaters and where the movie is playing over the next few weeks on Magnolia’s site.
