I-Land, the highly popular South Korean survival show of Mnet, is all set to make its return in 2024 with its second season, I-Land 2. Unlike the first season, this time, it will be a global next-generation girl group survival show. On the first day of the 2023 MAMA Awards, which is November 28, 2023, Mnet launched an intriguing teaser trailer for I-Land 2: N/a.
The newly released official trailer provides the audience with glimpses of what is about to come their way in the upcoming 2024 survival reality show. By the look of it, it is quite evident that the show will see the birth and rise of the next-generation iconic girl group.
I-LAND 2 release date, auditions, format & more
As displayed in the trailer for I-LAND 2, the highly anticipated Mnet survival show will premiere in April 2023. Mnet has not revealed the exact release date of the South Korean show yet. The show’s prime focus will be a global girl group debut in 2024. The application period for the competition began on July 10, 2023, and ended on August 6, 2023.
One of the qualifications for application was that the applicant had to be a girl born before January 1, 2011. The other criteria for applying for the show was that the applicant had to be able to travel abroad without any cause of disqualification for international travelling. The applicants had to record three one-minute video clips of themselves, showcasing their self-introduction, singing or rapping and dancing.
YG Entertainment’s Teddy Park to be the Master Producer of I-Land 2
Mnet previously produced season 1 of I-Land in collaboration with the HYBE agency and gave birth to the now highly popular boy group Enhypen in the year 2020.
However, the new season of the show is a collaboration between Mnet and Teddy Park, the longtime in-house producer for YG Entertainment and the producer’s agency THEBLACKLABEL.
