The Midnight Studio episode 14 spoilers: Joo Won’s curse mark disappears
In The Midnight Studio episode 14, Ki-Joo (Joo Won) comes back to life. On the day of his discharge from the hospital, Han Bom (Kwon Nara) shares a few cute moments with him in the presence of Assistant Go (Yoo In-Soo) and Baek Nam-Gu (Eum Moon-Suk). The four suddenly realize that the “safe zone” circle is not working anymore.
Later at home, Ki-Joo’s curse mark on his shoulder begins to disappear. He and Han Bom believe his curse has been lifted as he didn’t die at 35 like his ancestors. From celebrating his 36th birthday to dreaming of a happy future, Ki-Joo and Han Bom spend their days as a happy couple.
Moreover, Han Bom doesn’t back out in her fight against Seon-Ho and his father, Lee Hyun-Oh. In the past, the latter was Han Bom’s former boss, who destroyed her career to save his son’s crimes.
On the other hand, Ki-Joo asks Assistant Go and Nam-Gu to prepare to leave their ghost lives and peacefully cross over to the land of the dead. Nam-Gu mentions that he is ready to cross the border; however, Assistant Go is a bit hesitant because he has recently started dating.
Nam-Gu seeks Ki-Joo’s help to reunite his wife with her lover. It is unclear if his plan succeeded or not. Ki-Joo feels sad to learn that Nam-Gu wants to leave as soon as possible. But then he understands Nam-Gu after the latter shows that his arm has begun turning black. It means the ghost is turning into an evil spirit.
The Midnight Studio episode 14 ending: Why did Joo Won kill Eum Moon-Suk?
Towards the end of The Midnight Studio episode 14, Nam-Gu (Eum Moon-Suk) requests Ki-Joo (Joo Won) to click his final photo and bid farewell without telling anyone else. At the photo studio, the former cop dons his uniform for the photo.
When Ki-Jo is about to click the picture, the magical camera doesn’t work. While wondering what went wrong, the evil ghost that earlier possessed Seon-Ho returns. He attacks Ki-Joo to steal the camera; however, Nam-Gu protects the photographer. During their fight, Nam-Gu turns himself into an evil ghost and sucks in the dangerous spirit. Now, he tries to kill Ki-Joo.
Ki-Joo shouts Nam-Gu’s name, and the latter appears for a second. The former cop asks Ki-Joo to stab him, which will kill the dangerous ghost. The photographer initially denies it but eventually stabs his friend to get rid of the evil spirit.
After Nam-Gu’s spirit vanishes, Ki-Joo breaks down, and the camera focuses on his shoulder’s curse mark. The episode ends with Han Bom on her way home when she screams in pain. On her wrist, the place where she has a mark like Ki-Joo begins to light up.
The Midnight Studio airs new episodes on Mondays and Tuesdays on ENA and Viki.
