ENA shared the Like Flowers in Sand Episode 9 trailer, starring Jang Dong-Yoon as Kim Baek-Du and Lee Joo-Myoung as Oh Yu-Gyeong/Du-Sik. Currently, the K-drama’s storyline revolves around Du-Sik’s childhood incident connected to the recent death in Geosan County.
In episode 8, Du-Sik finds out that cafe owner Mi-Ran is the daughter of a wrestler who died when her father was the head coach. Du-Sik’s dad was accused of Mi-Ran’s father’s death, making her childhood miserable. She left the town and moved to Seoul.
Du-Sik has now returned to her hometown as an undercover cop investigating match-fixer Choi Chil-Seong’s death. In the Like Flowers in Sand Episode 9 trailer, Baek-Du learns the real reason she has come back to Geosan.

Like Flowers in Sand Episode 9 trailer: Baek-Du discovers Du-Sik returned to find the culprit from a past incident
Like Flowers in Sand Episode 9 trailer begins with Baek-Du (Jang Dong-Yoon) asking Du-Sik if she has only returned for Choi Chil-Seong’s case. The deceased seems to be connected to her and Mi-Ran’s fathers. In the previous episode, she told the cafe owner that Chil-Seong killed her father and put the blame on Du-Sik’s dad.
While Baek-Du seems heartbroken with Du-Sik’s reason to return home, the townspeople gossip about his love life. The rumor soon spreads that Baek-Du is after a married woman. For context, Du-Sik now calls herself Yu-Gyeong, and she came to Geosan as an undercover cop. Lee Joo-Myoung’s character appeared as her work partner Min Hyeon-Uk’s wife.
Meanwhile, a spark ignites between the lead characters since they kissed in episode 8. The Like Flowers in Sand Episode 9 trailer ends with curiosity about the old case involving Du-Sik’s father.
The sports romance K-drama will air episode 9 on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 9 p.m. KST on ENA. It will also stream on Netflix.
