Song Kang is a 29-year-old South Korean actor. He will soon appear in two much-awaited K-drama series, My Demon and Sweet Home 2.
While My Demon is a fantasy romance drama, Sweet Home 2 is a supernatural horror web series. Song Kang is a versatile actor who is nicknamed the “Son of Netflix” as most of his Korean dramas air on the streaming platform.
He started his career with supporting roles, music videos, and as a music show host. The actor got his first big K-drama break in 2019 with Love Alarm, the streamer’s original romantic series. Meanwhile, he is one of the A-list actors in the Korean entertainment industry.

My Demon is Song Kang’s upcoming Korean drama series opposite Kim Yoo-Jung. He plays the role of demon Jung Gu-Won and Yoo-Jung essays the role of an heiress of a multi-national company. One day, Gu-Won’s powers transfer to Yoo-Jung during a drowning incident.
The 200-year-old demon needs his powers back to prevent his extinction. To do so, he must protect human Yoo-Jung as she has many enemies around her. Hence, the two enter into a marriage contract, which eventually turns into a love story.
Based on the webtoon of the same name, My Demon will premiere on Friday, November 24, 2023, on SBS and Netflix.
Sweet Home
Sweet Home season 1 is a supernatural horror drama related to a zombie-like monster apocalypse. Song Kang plays a high school student named Cha Hyun-Su who wants to commit suicide after he loses his family. He moves into an apartment complex and tries to kill himself. But plans change when a deadly virus attacks the city.
Soon, people begin to turn into monsters. Hyun-Su and his neighbors decide to fight the virus. The first season of Sweet Home was spine-chilling and ended on a cliffhanger. Season 2 of Sweet Home is set to premiere on December 1, 2023, on Netflix. The series is renewed for the third season as well.
Nevertheless
Nevertheless is one of the controversial K-dramas that raised eyebrows in Korea. Starring Song Kang and Han So-Hee, the romantic series revolves around a toxic couple, Park Jae-Eon and Yoo Na-Bi.
The lead characters don’t want to get involved in any serious relationship. They begin to flirt and develop physical intimacy with each other. Eventually, the dynamic changes between them as they start falling for each other.
Love Alarm
Love Alarm is a unique high-school romance drama. It revolves around a mobile app that rings if one or more people like you within a 10-meter radius. Kim Jo-Jo (Kim So-Hyun), Lee Hye-Young (Jung Ga-Ram), and Hwang Sun-Oh (Song Kang) get involved with each other because of the app.
Hye-Young likes Jo-Jo, and the former’s best friend Sun-Oh wants to find out if Hye-Young truly likes her. Therefore, Sun-Oh kisses Jo-Jo, which leads to a complicated love triangle. This Lee Na-Jeong directorial was My Demon actor’s first big hit Netflix K-drama.
Forecasting Love and Weather
Forecasting Love and Weather is a sweet romance drama, starring Park Min-Young as Jin Ha-Kyung and Song Kang as Lee Si-Woo.
Min-Young swears to not get involved in an office romance after her fiancé-cum-colleague cheated on her. She works at the Korea Meteorological Administration and is senior to a new joiner, Lee Si-Woo. The two hook up within a few days of knowing each other. Min-Young tries to avoid him but Si-Woo persuades her to date him. Like every K-drama, Forecasting Love and Weather also includes all the typical moments between lead characters.
Aside from the aforementioned dramas, Song Kang has also given wonderful performances in shows like Navillera, and Hello, Spring. Most of his K-dramas are available on Netflix.
