Indian 2 trailer: What is Kamal Haasan’s upcoming movie about?
On Tuesday, the makers of Indian 2 released the much-awaited trailer. Filmmaker S. Shankar, known for his collaboration with Kamal Haasan in the original Indian, returns to direct the sequel. The trailer, shared by Lyca Productions on various social media platforms, showcases the struggles of ordinary people and marks the comeback of the iconic character, Senapathy, from his long hiatus.
The Indian 2 trailer begins with a montage of various crimes and scams plaguing the country, accompanied by a voiceover highlighting issues such as unemployment, tax burdens, a lack of basic facilities, and illegal activities. Amidst this, Siddharth’s character appears, questioning what people are doing to address these problems. He recalls his childhood hero, Senapathy, a powerful freedom fighter who had retreated to the mountains.
Thus, Senapathy soon returns, targeting corrupt businessmen and other culprits. He engages in intense action scenes and uses multiple disguises to outsmart his enemies. When confronted by Siddharth’s character about betraying his own principles of honesty, Senapathy retorts that saving the country requires drastic measures.
Kamal Haasan recently shed light on what the upcoming film is going to be all about. “The core idea of Indian 2 comes from the politics and we have to thank them for it. Corruption still being rampant is the reason Indian thatha’s return is being welcomed after all these years.” he shared.
As fans eagerly await the release of Indian 2 on July 12, 2024, the trailer has further heightened the anticipation.
