Kemmu stated, “With the first one, there is no expectation, and so goes the case, like I said, Andaz Apna Apna. Andaz Apna Apna, if you know, was a Flop, but when you go in with no expectations, then it’s a pleasant surprise, but now you have expectations.” He acknowledged the pressure to meet or exceed the audience’s expectations. In addition, he highlighted the challenge of creating a sequel that lives up to the original’s success.
While Kumal Kemmu is already brainstorming ideas for Madgaon Express 2, he is also juggling other projects. He mentioned that he would start writing the sequel only when he finds the right idea that justifies a follow-up. Regarding Golmaal 5, Kemmu noted that the original team is working on the script and understands the characters best. ”They created them and I always feel that if you have created a character then you know their original voice so unless you feel inapt saying that ‘I am exhausted, I don’t know what to do with them’, I think they should be the one who go ahead with it,” he explained.
Furthermore, the Madgoan Express director is also gearing up for the release of an upcoming web series titled Gulkanda Tales. It is produced by Raj & DK and directed by Rahi Anil Barve.
