The renowned Bollywood actress Tabu is gearing up to grace the screens again in the highly anticipated Max streaming series Dune: Prophecy. The news comes as a surprise to fans of both the actor and the Dune franchise, marking yet another milestone in Tabu’s illustrious career.
Tabu to play Sister Francesca in Dune: Prophecy
The Max series, previously known as Dune: The Sisterhood, was in the making long before the onset of the pandemic. Now, with Tabu’s involvement, it takes another step toward its actualization. According to a report from Variety, Tabu will play the character of Sister Francesca. Based on the novel Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson, her role is significant.
Sister Francesca is described as a character of depth and complexity. In detail, “Strong, intelligent, and alluring, Sister Francesca leaves a lasting impression in her wake. Once a great love of the Emperor, her return to the palace strains the balance of power in the capital.”
Tabu will join actors such as Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, and Jodhi May, among others. Together, they will bring to life the origins of the Bene Gesserit clan, an influential group within Dune mythology. They are known for their enigmatic abilities and profound influence on humanity’s fate.
