Kaduva Ending Explained: How Does Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Movie End?

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s action-packed Malayalam film, Kaduva hit theaters in 2022. Directed by Shaji Kailas, the film featured Prithviraj Sukumaran as Kaduvakunnel Kurian Koruthu, also known as Kaduva. Alongside him, Vivek Oberoi, Samyuktha Menon, and Arjun Ashokan played supporting roles. Now, let’s delve into the article to uncover how Kaduva concluded.

In the town of Pala in Kottayam, a man known as Kuriyachan resided, known for his wealth and ownership. His judgment was trusted by both the police and priests, earning him the nickname Kaduva (Tiger) among locals.

However, the arrival of a new father, Father Robin, at the Church of Pala brought turmoil. Father Robin, guilty of a heinous crime, was posted there as punishment, with authorities expecting retribution from Kuriyachan.

Tensions escalated when a local widow, Karinkandathil Theruthi, donated a piano to the church. Kuriyachan intervened, asserting the piano belonged to the church, not Father Robin. Theruthi initially supported Kuriyachan’s stance but later retracted her statement, leading to a confrontation. While Kuriyachan’s actions were previously viewed as heroic, his reputation faltered when his wife Elsa accused him of mistreating an older woman.

Backed by political backing from Joseph, Elsa’s accusations marked the beginning of Kuriyachan’s downfall. Joseph staged the replacement of police officers loyal to Kuriyachan (Kaduva) and subjected him to various forms of harassment. Kuriyachan’s suffering intensified with repeated house searches, hired criminals targeting him, and Father Robin’s attempted assault on Elsa, which injured their daughter.

Why did Kaduva choose to conceal his plans after jail?

Upon release from prison, Kuriyachan sought counsel from Father Kariyattil, exposing political corruption. He decided to fund a new political party, ultimately leading to the downfall of Chief Minister Ananthanathan’s government.

Kuriyachan wielded newfound power, ensuring Joseph faced repercussions for his actions. Despite Joseph’s attempts on his life, Kuriyachan emerged victorious, orchestrating Joseph’s arrest and demanding his remand in the same cell where he had suffered.

During a visit to Theruthi, Kuriyachan witnessed Joseph departing with his family, fully aware of Joseph’s reputation as a corrupt IPS officer. Joseph’s physically challenged younger son added complexity to their encounter.

Kuriyachan, upon seeing Joseph’s son, requested Joseph to step out of the car, initiating a tense conversation. He commended Joseph’s education and achievements but warned against the pitfalls of wealth and power. Drawing from his belief in the Old Testament, Kuriyachan cautioned Joseph about the repercussions of his actions, provoking palpable anger in Joseph.

Previously, Kuriyachan (Kaduva) had confided everything in his childhood teacher, lawyer friend, and wife, Elsa. However, since his release from jail, he distanced himself from them, causing confusion and discomfort.

People perceived his avoidance as cowardice, but in reality, Kuriyachan meticulously planned his revenge, waiting for the opportune moment. He remained calm and calculated, ensuring no suspicion arose about his intentions. While others saw it as a weakness, Kuriyachan viewed his withdrawal as a strategic move to lull his adversaries into a false sense of security before striking back decisively. Thus, what seemed like a sprint for Joseph turned into a calculated marathon for Kuriyachan, who patiently awaited his chance to exact vengeance.

Aside from this, momentarily, Prithviraj Sukumaran is all set for his upcoming film, The Goat Life (Aadujeevitham), scheduled to hit theaters on March 28, 2024.
