A short video shared by Karan Johar featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma has left the internet buzzing with excitement, teasing possibly Wake Up Sid 2. Konkana wakes up Ranbir Kapoor in the video, saying, “Wake up, it’s Rishi’s day.” Additionally, an exciting question is written over it: “Is the gang back?”

Additionally, the duo, who charmed audiences in the 2009 romantic comedy Wake Up Sid, was spotted alongside other cast members in a viral photo before this release. Now that Karan Johar is teasing the same, fans cannot stop speculating on a much-anticipated sequel.

Ranbir Kapoor, Konkona Sen Sharma’s latest video speculates Wake Up Sid 2

Karan Johar, teasing a Wake Up Sid reunion, posted the video on his social media. However, before the release, a viral photo was first shared on Reddit, after which it set the internet ablaze, speculating about the making of the sequel to the popular movie Wake Up Sid. Now the reason behind the speculations is the attire of Ranbir Kapoor and Konkana Sen Sharma, as well as the presence of two other cast members.

Ranbir Kapoor was captured in a laid-back ensemble comprising a blue shirt and off-white pants. Meanwhile, Konkana Sen Sharma is reminiscent of her beloved Wake Up Sid character, Aisha. She was seen wearing a white kurta paired with denim and a dupatta draped around her neck. The cast members featured along with the duo are Namit Das and Shikha Talsania who played Ranbir Kapoor’s character’s close friends.

The teaser video prompted an outpouring of excitement from fans eagerly awaiting a sequel. After all, comments flooded in, expressing nostalgia and fervent requests for the return of Sid and Ayesha.

One netizen exclaimed, “Please make a movie both of you. Sid & Ayesha should be back.” While another wrote, “Omggggg I wouldn’t mind a Wake Up Sid Part 2!!! I have always mentioned here how I loved ranbir-Konkona’s chemistry in the movie. So subtle yet real. Eye-lock moments, small gestures, old school romance uff.” All in all, fans would love to see the duo again.

For those unfamiliar, Wake Up Sid was released in 2009. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film became a cult classic on the basics of adulting. It followed the journey of a spoiled brat who discovered the nuances of independent living. After sharing a flat with a journalist who recently moved to Mumbai with a bag full of dreams.
