Following its successful theatrical release, OMG 2 starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam is set to release on Netflix this month. However, the OTT giant will be screening the censored version of the film with a total of 27 cuts levied by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

OMG 2 directed by Amit Rai has won hearts across the nation with its satirical comedy-drama narrative. The movie revolves around Kanti Sharan Mudgal, whose son is accused of unethical behaviour and is expelled from the school. Mudgal seeks justice and drags those responsible for the crime to court. It is set to release on Netflix on October 8, 2023.
The synopsis of OMG 2 reads, “The story of Kanti Sharan Mudgal, a staunch devotee of Lord Shiva, a simple man, a loving father, and a caring husband. One day his son, Vivek, is blamed for immoral conduct and thrown out of school. Upon confrontation, Kanti realizes that his son has been a victim of misinformation and misguidance. Grief-struck and unable to handle the crisis, Kanti decides to leave the town with his family, until… he has a divine intervention that steers him towards truth. Kanti then decides to take on everyone responsible by dragging them to court to mandate comprehensive education in schools, in a dramatic courtroom drama.”
Akshay Kumar shared his excitement in a recent interview with OTT Play, stating, “We are thrilled by the enthusiastic reception OMG 2 has received in theatres! This story deserves to travel far and beyond borders, and we are confident that with Netflix, we will be able to take the film to entertainment lovers around the world. I hope that our labor of love continues to spread joy.”
OMG 2 is a spiritual sequel to the 2012 film OMG – Oh My God. The film was released in theatres on August 11, 2023, and managed to gross more than Rs.135 crore net at the box office.
