Art of Obsession: Indie horror noir reveals first still and official trailer
Canadian indie horror filmmaker Ryan M. Andrews (Save Yourself, Sick) teams up once again with prolific genre actor Ry Barrett (The Heretics, The Demolisher) for a more psyche-based horror noir called Art Of Obsession and we have the trailer for you to dig into. The film also stars Winny Clarke (Almost Adults), Raven Cousens (Late Night Double Feature) and Jessica Vano (The Demolisher).
Barrett stars as Kennedy Sait, a successful writer who despite, as well as because of, his success, is battling many demons. The film will be hitting festivals this fall and Director Andrews is eager to share the film, which he cites as a departure from his previous work. He explains, “Every film I make, I try to switch things up a little. So I went from doing a body count film with a killer in a mall, to a dramatic zombie film about surviving in the apocalypse, to a fun thriller pitting five women against a mad scientist. They all have an artful side to them, but other than that, they’re different. And that’s what I love most about the horror genre, it’s such a broad spectrum. This film definitely goes in a completely different direction.”
Art of Obsession is produced by Chris Cull, Eva Mancini and Bruno Marino. Cinematography is by Michael Jari Davidson who brings an organic feel to the look of the film using vintage 1980’s lenses with a modern camera. New to the team this time around is Toronto composer, Janal Bechthold.
