Apocalyptic action blast TURBO KID gets honored in Montreal.
Instant cult fave TURBO KID roared to screens big and small last year to great acclaim, even winning the Saturn Award for Best International Film.
To celebrate its success, the folks at the Montreal Comic-Con (which runs from July 8-10 in Montreal at the Palais des congrès) have whipped up one helluva cool TURBO KID event, complete with a full exhibit, appearance of select cast and an appearance by TURBO KID braintrusts RKSS ( Road Kill Super Star; a creative trio consisting Yoann-Karl Whissell, Anouk Whissell and François Simard).
The exhibit will feature props, costumes and BMX bikes (all authentic and screen-used) and other various items, all curated from writer/directors RKSS’ personal collection.
The one and only Michael Ironside (SCANNERS, VISITING HOURS, TOTAL RECALL) will be a special Montreal Comi-Con guest to tie-in with the TURBO KID expo. There will be also other activities related to TURBO KID; such as panels on the Music of the film with electronic duo Le Matos, another on TURBO KID’s SFX makeup with award-winning makeup artist Olivier Xavier. There will also be artist Jeik Dion from the TURBO KID comic books, a screening & live dubbing of the film, and other announcements.
