Selma Blair Joins Nicolas Cage in Horror Film MOM AND DAD

The Tracking Board is reporting that actress Selma Blair (the Hellboy films, “The People v. O.J. Simpson,” “Anger Management”) will co-star with Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage (Leaving Las Vegas, Kick-Ass, National Treasure) in the upcoming horror film Mom and Dad.

The story revolves around a teenage girl and her little brother, who are forced to survive for 24 hours when a mysterious mass hysteria causes parents (Blair and Cage) to become aggressively violent against their own kids.

Crank filmmaker Brian Taylor, formerly one-half of a directing duo with Mark Neveldine (a.k.a. Neveldine & Taylor), will write and direct the film. He previously helmed Cage in the 2011 superhero sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, which grossed a moderate $132 million worldwide on a $57 million budget. Taylor is known for his gonzo filmmaking techniques, which includes operating the camera on rollerblades.

Production will begin on Mom and Dad in Kentucky in July, with Armory Films’ Tim Zajaros and Christopher Lemole producing, along with Jere Hausfater and Cassian Elwes executive producing for XYZ Films to distribute.
