Exclusive First Look: Black Fawn Films’ BED OF THE DEAD

Canadian horror machine Black Fawn release stills from new haunted bed flick.

Canada’s unstoppable Black Fawn Films (BITE, THE DROWNSMAN), as part of their multi-picture deal with Breakthrough Entertainment are on the cusp of releasing their latest high concept horror film, this one about a monstrous mattress with murder on its quilted mind.

The picture is first-time director (and veteran cinematographer) Jeff Maher’s BED OF THE DEAD, a gruesome and bizarre romp about curious couples at a haunted sex club who find themselves imprisoned on a massive and massively evil bed!

“I remember as a child running and leaping into my bed to avoid being grabbed by some terrible thing underneath. I was a good 60% sure there was a ghoul down there who wanted to consume me. These sorts of very real fears are dismissed as we get older but they never really go away, they hide in our unconscious. In making Bed of the Dead I wanted to explore these childhood fears because really… you don’t know if there is someone under your bed, or in your closet, watching you sleep. Bumps in the night, sleep paralysis, home invasion…the bedroom, the place where you sleep, it’s where you are your most vulnerable…to the ghouls.” – Jeff Maher, Writer/Director

BED OF THE DEAD is written Cody Calahan and Maher and starring Colin Price, Alyssa King (TV’s Slasher) Gwenlyn Cumyn (TV’s All For One), Dennis Andres (Lady Psycho Killer) and Geroge Krissa. The film is produced by Chad Archibald (The Drownsman, Antisocial, Antisocial 2, Bite, Let Her Out) Cody Calahan (The Drownsman, Antisocial, Antisocial 2, Bite, Let Her Out) Christopher Giroux (The Drownsman, Antisocial, Antisocial 2, Bite, Let Her Out) with Director of Photography Micha Dahan.

No word on a firm release date for BED OF THE DEAD, but when we know you’ll know.
