Raro and Kino Lorber to Release Uncut Version of David Hess Thriller HITCH HIKE on Blu-ray

Obscure and hyper-violent thriller HITCH-HIKE coming to Blu-ray.

Director Pasquale Festa Campanile’s brutal Italian exploitation masterpiece is coming to Blu-ray on February 16th via a partnership with Raro Video and Kino Lorber, totally uncut and uncensored and presented in a stunning new HD transfer.

And trust us, this is a picture you’ll want to see in its nastiest cut.

The notorious (and still little seen) psycho-sexual mind-bender stars DJANGO legend Franco Nero and Corinne Clery (THE STORY OF O) and one of the most malevolent performances by LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT star David Hess. The urgent score is one of many genre soundtracks composed by the great Ennio Morricone in the 1970’s.

Here’s the official synopsis:

While on a cross-country drive, a bitter writer ( Nero) and his beautiful wife (Clery) pick up a stranded motorist (Hess). But when this hitcher turns out to be a depraved psychopath, their road trip takes a vicious detour into sex and savagery where the miles are marked in mayhem and vengeance is the ultimate rule of thumb.

For many, HITCH HIKE is the white whale of Italian exploitation and it more that lives up to its myth. It’s rough, mean and awesome.

The release will also feature a new documentary called ROAD TO RUIN and a fully illustrated booklet.

Have you seen this classic Eurothriller? Will you be picking this one up?
