Twin Peaks Revival Expanded; Badalamenti Scoring

This past weekend at Crypticon Seattle’s Twin Peaks panel, series stars Sherilyn Fenn & Sheryl Lee revealed exciting news about the newly whole Season Three.

Just after David Lynch was announced as directing—following a discrepancy between the filmmaker and Showtime, reportedly over the season’s budget, which saw Lynch temporarily exit—Showtime’s David Nevins stated there’d be even more Peaks than expected. At Crypticon, Fenn and Lee said that expansion will mean 18 episodes of a new Twin Peaks, written by series creatores Mark Frost & Lynch, and directed by Lynch. “I’m so happy we’re back on, and 18 episodes now,” said Fenn, who’s been an incredible point of communication on the revival’s development, leading the social media charge in support for Lynch.

While not surprising, but no less significant, the actors also noted that regular Lynch collaborator and composer Angelo Badalamenti will return to score Twin Peaks Season 3. Badalamenti’s accompaniment to Twin Peaks is an integral, iconic piece of this Pacific Northwest puzzle and this seeming confirmation is another that makes the project complete.
