FOX Sets The X-Files for January 2016

The highly anticipated return of The X-Files, in the form of a six-episode event series, has been set for January 2016 premiere by FOX.

The X-Files will premiere Sunday, January 24th following the NFC Championship Game (I don’t know, either) at 10 p.m., and then settling into its regular timeslot on Mondays at 8 p.m. thereafter. The X-Files creator Chris Carter returns to the series alongside stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. Recently, Mitch Pileggi confirmed his return as Assistant Director Walter Skinner, while Duchovny announced William B. Davis would reprise his role as The Smoking Man.

Carter was previously quoted as saying he’d “like to bring everyone possible back” to The X-Files. Just last month that extended to “a big chance” The Lone Gunmen could return.
