Fantasia 2015: Tales of Halloween, Turbo Kid, Israeli Horror Lead First Wave

As one fest wraps, another gears up. It’s the nature of festival season and a testament to the sheer amount of films being produced around the world. Next, we look forward to Montreal’s annual, legendary celebration of international genre cinema, Fantasia International Film Festival. The three week-long festival is a madhouse of rowdy movies, rowdier audiences and often true gems and discoveries (like last year’s The Midnight Swim). In 2015, the films hail from the U.S., Israel, Australia, Japan, Ethiopia and much more. It includes the world premiere of anticipated horror anthology Tales of Halloween, first Ethiopian sci-fi film Crumbs, the big screen adaptation of video game Fatal Frame, stop-motion macabre, Possessed out of Spain; and a new film from Linda Linda Linda director Nobuhiro Yamashita.

See the full First Wave, below. The Fantasia International Film Festival runs this July 14 through August 4, 2015. It’s a stellar occasion. For more, visit Fantasia.
