They’re Her- Er, Coming in New Poltergeist Clip

“They’re coming.” It may not have the same ring, but there’s certainly something unsettling about Kennedi Clements being utterly dwarfed by the massive flat screen in this new Poltergeist clip, a reworking of one of the original’s most iconic moments.

It does make you wonder why the film won’t just use “They’re here,” though. Is it simply the desire to somehow differentiate itself from the original while being inherently tied to it by restaging classic scenes (we’ve had glimpses of the bathroom, the clown, the tree, etc)? I do keep returning to how big that television is however. It’s a bit eerie.

Poltergeist is out May 22^nd. Gil Kenan directs a cast including Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Jared Harris and Jane Adams. [Collider]
