Belgian Horrors Cub & The Treatment out this summer from Artsploitation

Artsploitation has relaunched furiously, picking up and planning to distribute anticipated festival films like Horsehead, Der Samurai, Cub and The Treatment. The latter two, both acclaimed Belgian thrillers, have been waiting on confirmed release dates and have now been officially announced for July and August.

Artsploitation has announced a July 7th DVD & Blu release for The Treatment, “A murder-mystery about a cop seeking a maniac who torments the parents before abducting their kids.” Word on the film is that is both particularly haunting and tremendously nasty.

Meanwhile, Jonas Govaerts’ Flemish-language boy scout neo-slasher Cub will arrive August 18th on Blu & DVD. The film concerns a camping trip which “turns into a carnage for a troop of cub scouts as a killer, aided by his feral young assistant, stalks them with deadly traps.” Horror fans will get a supreme kick out of this mean-spirited movie, as well as the great score by Steve Moore (Zombi, 2014’s The Guest).

Find trailers for both films below and more info at Artsploitation. The Treatment will next be seen at the upcoming Stanley Film Festival in Estes Park, CO. You can also check out our Summer Horror Preview, which features Cub, here.
