The annual Anaheim WonderCon gets underway this weekend, and though its horror presence is fairly light, a new addition to the previously announced Blumhouse panel will give fans the first look at this Julys upcoming The Gallows, and has given us the first word on its plot.
Until now, The Gallows has simply been described as a “high school horror.” A new official synopsis however expands on such, revealing a high school itself as the titular death structure: “Twenty years after an accident caused the death of the lead actor during a high school play, students at the same small town school resurrect the failed stage production in a misguided attempt to honor the anniversary of the tragedy but ultimately find out that some things are better left alone.”
Shades of Hello Mary Lou! If youll be at WonderCon, you can see the first footage from The Gallows at the Blumhouse panel this Saturday, April 4th in Room Arena at 5:00 p.m. Producer Jason Blum will be on hand to present footage from Unfriended and Insidious: Chapter 3, as well. If you’re not able to make it, however, don’t fret because we’ll be there providing updates!
The Gallows is set for release from Warner Bros. on July 10, 2015. Travis Cluff and Chris Lofing direct.
