“There are ghost stories, and then there’s Poltergeist.” The first TV Spot for the upcoming remake of the Steven Spielberg-produced, Tobe Hooper-directed 1982 horror classic puts the original on a pedestal and then recalls and references some of its finest moments.
Gil Kenan’s Poltergeist (2015) was likely always going to replay some of the original film’s most iconic beats. They’re here. The tree. The mirror. Glimpses of how Kenan and a cast including Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Jane Adams and Jared Harris reimagine and remake them are on full display in a flashy, brief clip. Sam Raimi produces the film, “about a family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and hold the youngest daughter captive, the family must come together to rescue her before she disappears forever.”
