UK filmmaker Adam Mason, of films like Broken, The Devil’s Chair and Pig, is known for grueling, brutal, often graphic visions. This year, he hits Austin’s annual SXSW, in the Midnighters section appropriately, with Hangman, a film that seems to marry said visions with POV/found footage for what hopefully amounts to a scuzzy, unsettling affair.
Starring Jeremy Sisto, Hangman concerns the “Miller family, who return from vacation and find their home has been broken into. After cleaning up the mess they continue with their lives, shaking off the feeling of being violated. But little do they know the nightmare has just begun.”
Hangman sees its World Premiere on Saturday, March 15th at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar. It looks like it should get under some skin. Expect much more on Hangman and SXSW 2015 in the coming weeks. See the full Midnight rundown here.
