Announcing alongside a summer tour, sure to be as theatrical as ever, musician and filmmaker Rob Zombie has relaunched his polarizing, seemingly successful crowdfunding campaign for new, Halloween-set horror film, 31.
31, for which Zombie raised money throughout last fall, concerns five people who are kidnapped on the five days leading up to Halloween. Theyre subsequently held hostage in Murder World, a man-made Hell they must fight their way out of Most Dangerous Game-style. Zombie dropped a ton of concept sketches during the campaign, including looks at killer clowns and costumed creatures in the apparently claustrophobic film. Now, as he prepares to film this spring, Zombie says, After wrapping up our first campaign we were bombarded with late requests to be part of the 31 action. So here we go again! Time to join the bloody clown mayhem! Filming starts in March so get ready for tons of exciting updates on what promises to be the most fucked up film of the year.
Zombie releases live album Spookshow International this February 24th. You can find his newly announced June stops, below and more on the 31 campaign at RZ-31. For more, see Shocks interview with Zombie on the film and its funding here.
