If zombie films are largely content with keeping the undead in their familiar shambling forms, it might as well be a game that tries something different. The upcoming Havoc DLC for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare features an Exo Zombies co-op experience, which has outfitted the cannibal corpses with the game’s abilities-increasing exosuits and pit them against the digital likenesses of John Malkovich, Rose McGowan, Bill Paxton and The Walking Dead‘s Jon Bernthal. Eyes glow and blood flies in this first trailer for the game.
“Get ready for a new breed of Zombies,” reads the Call of Duty site. “A DNA bioweapon unexpectedly spawns a bloodthirsty, ravenous mutant horde infecting an entire secret Atlas research facility and sending personnel running for their lives. Following a failed evacuation, four survivors, un-trained and underprepared, must face the most vicious mutations ever unleashed.”
Havoc and its Exo Zombies hit XBOX Live on January 27th, with “other platforms to follow.”
