The Twin Peaks revival is taking exciting shape. The nine-episode limited series set to premiere on Showtime in 2016 will be written and produced by co-creators David Lynch and Mark Frost, and directed entirely by Lynch. Earlier this week, the TCA press tour announced the return of Kyle MacLachlan as Agent Dale Cooper in stylish, damn fine coffee fueled form. Today brings confirmation that the girl whose murder the entire series revolved around, will also.
Video (below) was captured at the Twin Peaks Festival UK where Sheryl Lee, aka Laura Palmer and Dana Ashbrook, her floppy haired boyrfriend Bobby Briggs, revealed they’ll be seen in the new iteration of Twin Peaks. How, or when, or why, remains much like a lot in the show, a mystery. The bonus here is that it seems in the process of the announcement, Ashbrook confirms the return of Sherilyn Fenn (aka Audrey Horne), as well.
Who else will return? The casting is likely to come fast and furious, as the series is expected to shoot this summer. Perhaps reassuringly, even if your favorite doesn’t get their small screen due, they could appear in Mark Frost’s upcoming novel set to bridge the 25 year gap in Twin Peaks history.
