Ryan Reynolds Horror Comedy, The Voices out in February

Marjane Satrapi’s mad movie The Voices, in which Ryan Reynolds hears the voices of his evil cat and kindly dog, while attempting to control murderous impulse will see a release from Lionsgate this winter.

Candy colored, darkly humorous and grotesque The Voices is a singular film. Written by Michael R. Perry and directed by Persepolis’ Satrapi, the film is one of extremes, in which Jerry (Reynolds) swings between an idyllic perception of the world and his more frightening reality and head state. The synopsis follows: Jerry is that chipper guy clocking the nine-to-five at a bathtub factory, with the offbeat charm of anyone who could use a few friends. With the help of his court-appointed psychiatrist, he pursues his office crush (Gemma Arterton). However, the relationship takes a sudden, murderous turn after she stands him up for a date. Guided by his evil talking cat and benevolent talking dog, Jerry must decide whether to keep striving for normalcy, or indulge in a much more sinister path.

Anna Kendrick and Jacki Weaver co-star. The Voices, which premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, is out in limited theatrical release and on demand February 6th. The film is really something.
