Netflix Horrors is a regular column in which Shock Till You Drop alerts you to the latest genre titles to hit the VOD service. We’ve got a small update for you today, but an update nonetheless. We have to stay on top of these things to keep you looped in for your Halloween movie viewing, right?
First up, we have The Chair from director Brett Sullivan (Ginger Snaps II). Synopsis: Danielle, a young psychology student, is trying to rebuild her life when she sublets a century-old Victorian house. Unknowingly, she awakens an evil specter lurking in the dark recesses of her new home. To prove to her sister, Anna, that she isnt delusional again, Danielle sets out to document the haunting with horrifying results. She unleashes the soul of Edgar Crowe, a vicious child killer, who quickly seizes control of her life. Hungry to satisfy his taste for torturing boys, Crowe uses Danielle like a pawn to resurrect his ghastly Panic Chair. Now, Anna faces an impossible task destroy Crowe without destroying her sister. The solution comes to Anna, but is it buried too deeply in the long dead past for her to reach?
Next up is Blood Lake. After chomping through the fish population, thousands of starved lampreys begin attacking the citizens of a sleepy lake town, and the community scrambles to stay alive.
And, finally, we have Dead Within: Set six months after a deadly outbreak that has all but ended the human race, a man (True Bloods Dean Chekvala) and woman (Amy Cale Peterson, Southbounders) have survived by isolating themselves in a remote cabin and never opening the door.Now, they dont have a choice. Starved for resources, they must confront the horrors that threaten them but whats inside may be even more toxic than what remains outside.
