Update: Read this story before going any further…
Like it or hate it, Rob Zombie’s Halloween made an impression. Many have been hoping that a new reboot would erase that world while others are holding out hope that Rob Zombie will return. Well, it looks like everyone may be happy in some way. Dimension Films is readying a new film in their Halloween franchise and it appears we have some real movement.
For a long time, the next chapter in the Halloween saga was believed to be Halloween 3D, but it seems that the next chapter will be titled…you guessed it: Halloween: The Next Chapter. That’s according to Schmoes Know who broke the scoop. That site says the script won’t be turned in until 2015.
There are no details yet as to the plot or cast, but it sounds as if they are continuing the sag from where Halloween II left off. Earlier this year, pre-Cannes, there were rumblings that Dimension and producer Malek Akkad from Trancas Int’l were ready to take a sequel seriously and start moving forward. Actress Scout Taylor-Compton took to Twitter to say she was read to play Laurie again, but we’re not sure if that was a confirmation she was going to be in the next chapter…or just wishful thinking.
Could it feature Laurie Strode as the killer? Maybe, and I have to say, that would be an interesting direction to go in. What are your thoughts? What direction would you like to see them go?
