20th Century Fox has shifted two of its upcoming releases, resulting in a five month delay for director Gil Kenan’s Poltergeist. That’s actually positive news for the film, however, as the big screen reboot will now arrive in the middle of the summer instead of in mid-February. The just-announced July 24, 2015 date will have Poltergeist opening opposite the new Judd Apatow comedy, Trainwreck.
Taking Poltergeist‘s old date is Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service. Arriving February 13, 2015, it will be going toe-to-toe with Universal Pictures’ Fifty Shades of Grey.
Starring Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Jared Harris, Saxon Sharbino and Jane Adam, Poltergeist reinvents Tobe Hooper’s 1982 horror classic and features a screenplay by David Lindsay-Abaire.
