There was some promo art that accompanied that announcement, but I happened upon a new piece of key art – courtesy of Michael Golob Design – that I don’t believe anyone has seen before.
Hellraiser: The Series never came to fruition – it’s been over two years since it was first mentioned – but I can see something like this finding a modicum of success in today’s television climate.
I’ve been saying repeatedly that “television shows” are the new fad over “remakes.” Taking us deeper into the mythology of the Cenobites by way of a series feels right. The comic books of the late-’80s/early-’90s explored the world via the anthology format.
It would be interesting to see Cinemax or Showtime (probably Cinemax) take this on and give it a home.
Don’t hire husky Pinhead from Hellraiser: Revelations. He was the worst.
I suspect the notion of a series is dead at this point, but with shows like Firestarter and other horror fare reaching TV, perhaps Hellraiser: The Series will find renewed interest.
