Friday the 13th Franchise Plans New Television Series

“Jason Voorhees is synonymous with the genre,” says Sean S. Cunningham, the director of the original film and executive producer on the new series, “and we plan to build on this legacy with a provocative and compelling take that expands upon the storylines that have already thrilled millions worldwide.”

“Expect the show to take viewers in some exciting new directions that we’re confident will not only excite existing fans of ‘Friday The 13th’ but also attract new audiences to the situations and characters that inhabit the small town of Crystal Lake,” adds producer Robert Barsamian.

The new series is planned in addition to the forthcoming 13th entry in the big screen franchise, set to hit theaters Friday, March 13, 2015.

Executive producers include Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films’ Randall Emmett and George Furla, Atmoshphere Entertainment’s Mark Canton, Diversion3 Entertainment’s Steve B. Harris and Fox Entertainment’s Ted Fox.
