While I can’t get into specifics about what I saw just yet, I am allowed to relay an early thought or two. As I said via my personal (and Shock’s) Twitter account. Del Toro’s fingerprints are all over this thing. And as far as a pilot goes, there’s a lot to feast on. It’s Dracula, Salem’s Lot and The Night Flier by way of Del Toro (with a splash of Blade II, I think it’s safe to say). You guys are in for a treat this summer.
The tale is a high concept thriller that tells the story of “Dr. Ephraim Goodweather” (House of Card‘s Corey Stoll), the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers, wage war for the fate of humanity itself.
