TCM III was Mortensens sixth feature film but one of his first major roles.

Young Dicaprio plays Josh, a young boy whose stepfather is a bit of a tyrant and a slumlord in Critters 3. The film continues the story of the cute, but mischievous Crites trying to take over the world. Critters 3 was Dicaprios first feature film role.
