Deadline reports Brendan Gleeson (28 Days Later) and David Thewlis (the Harry Potter films) have both signed on to join the cast of the upcoming horror-thriller.
They’ll star opposite the previously announced Kate Beckinsale, Jim Sturgess, Anthony Hopkins and Ben Kingsley in the Brad Anderson (Session 9, The Call) film.
Loosely based on “The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether,” a short story by Edgar Allen Poe, the film will center on a Harvard Medical School graduate (Sturgess) who takes a job at an insane asylum, unaware of the fact that it has been taken over by its occupants.
Joseph Gangemi (Fear Itself, Wind Chill) provided the screenplay.
Shooting on Eliza Graves is expected to begin next week with Oren Peli (Paranormal Activity) among the project’s producers.
