Grisly Torso Tale Revived, David Lowery to Adapt Graphic Novel

David Fincher was once attached to bring the story to the screen, but the project fell by the wayside, leading to Paramount Pictures letting the rights lapse back in 2009.

The graphic novel looks at the later days of Eliot Ness (post-Untouchables) and his investigation into the “Torso Murderer” killings in which a serial killer only left behind the torsos of his victims between 1934 and 1938.

Lowery, whose Ain’t Them Bodies Saints hits theaters August 16, recently became attached to write and direct Pete’s Dragon for Walt Disney Pictures and The Old Man and the Gun with Robert Redford attached to star.
