This is the third release date for the potential franchise starter. The film was supposed to bow this past February but was shifted to September 2013.
The reason for this shift is to allow adequate time for a 3D conversion, says a press release. Another reason could be because Lionsgate found success found a modicum of success releasing a horror film in January of this year with Texas Chainsaw 3D and they don’t have anything to fill that slot in 2014.
Set in a dystopic present where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power, Victor Frankenstein’s creation Adam (Aaron Eckhart) finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality.
Directed by Stuart Beattie based on the graphic novel “I, Frankenstein” by Kevin Grievous, the film also stars Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney, Socratis Otto, Mahesh Jadu, Caitlin Stasey and Aden Young as Victor Frankenstein.
