The Fate of John Cusack’s The Factory Revealed

Some time ago, various sites erroneously reported the John Cusack thriller The Factory was making a small theatrical run.  That wasn’t the case at all.  In fact, at the time of the report, the film was exactly where it was a year ago and the year before that: Sitting on a shelf.

The Factory, directed by Morgan O’Neill, was expected to hit theaters in 2009 from Dark Castle/Warner Bros. until it was hit with a series of delays.  Well, we have finally heard where the film will wind up…

Sources tell us this title will be heading direct-to-DVD, likely this year, thus ending its long “unreleased” status.

Cusack plays Detective Mike Fletcher, a rugged and obsessive cop, who is on the trail of a serial killer who prowls the streets targeting young streetwalkers. When Fletcher’s teenage daughter disappears, he discovers the killer has kidnapped her after mistaking her for a hooker. His obsession goes into overdrive when he drops all professional restraint to get to the killer and save his daughter.

As soon as Warner Home Video makes a formal announcement, we’ll let you know…
