According to Deadline, David Morrissey – a British actor – has accepted the role as the show’s biggest and baddest villain. Those familiar with the comics know that he’s one screwed up motherf**ker. Morrissey has appeared in Centurion, the Red Riding Trilogy and tons of UK television projects.
The Governor – as the character is known in The Walking Dead – is introduced when Rick Grimes and company encounter Woodbury, a community of survivors.
Grimes and the Governor don’t quite see eye to eye and things take a very bad, bad, bad turn.
John Hawkes (Martha Marcy May Marlene) was rumored to have been considered for the Governor role, but there was no truth to that, says his reps.
Okay then! As far as sought after Walking Dead characters go, we can now put a face to one of them. Let’s see who they cast as the samurai sword-wielding Michonne.
