This was always suspected as happening, but here is the confirmation anyway… NBC has ordered up a complete 13-episode season of Hannibal, the new television show from Bryan Fuller which explores the early days of Hannibal Lecter.
A “contemporary” series, the story involves the budding relationship between FBI agent Will Graham and Lecter. Basically, all of the stuff that took place before Red Dragon, which was turned into a film called Manhunter, by Michael Mann, and Red Dragon by Brett Ratner.
Hannibal would not have happened if Fuller’s first script wasn’t top-notch. Alas, the network liked it and, confidently, is moving forward.
Fuller is also at work on Mockingbird Lane, a reboot of The Munsters.
