An interesting nugget of Munsters-related news to ruminate on. TVLine.com reports the NBC reboot of the series is going to be called Mockingbird Lane now.
This is interesting because, as a brand, The Munsters is certainly recognizable and one would presume that is what NBC is going after…something familiar. On the flipside, The Munsters is rather dusty and associated with something “goofy,” which is not the direction this new show is taking.
Bryan Fuller is at work on the show with executive producer Bryan Singer.
Mockingbird Lane is a nod to the street the Munsters family lives on. The title change may be for the best.
