2011 Black List Brimming With Genre Material

Another year.  Another Black List.  And another year of rumblings questioning the list’s validity.  The Black List, you see, is a culmination of the best unproduced screenplays as voted on by a group of anonymous Hollywood execs.  Agencies who rep the writers of the scripts on the Black List win out because their clients are getting buzz and, naturally, there is suspicion that some execs who vote each year play favorites.  That said, the 2011 Black List is in and it might offer an early look at some of the genre projects you will see getting made in the near future.

For your sake, I’ve extracted simply the horror projects that made this year’s list.  There are zombie stories a-plenty and a tale about a bunch of kids that catch a preview screening of Jurassic Park (because the concept of a bunch of nerds nerding out over a movie worked so well for Fanboys?).
