R.I.P.D set footage, Whispering Dead, One for the Road

Bits ‘n Bloody Pieces is a quick look at stuff we might have missed, viral-related promotions or light newsy bites that are easy to digest.

Got something weird, or a news nugget, to share that fits in with B’nBP? Send it on over to TO ME RIGHT HERE.

• The The Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania is showing Pieces this Friday, September 2. Here’s a poster they whipped up for the event.

• Raven’s Hollow is the name of a new CG-animated short horror film hitting the web this October. It concerns a young man and two pals who tread into a cornfield cultivated by the legend of a maniac farmer. You can see some images, like the one below, via the official site.

• Can’t get enough horror on the web? Tune into this trailer for Transmission. Here, I bunch of tough guys and strangers get into trouble and find themselves faced with a zombie situation and, well, you get the picture. A pretty familiar concoction. Check it out. The series kicks off August 30.

• And even more webby horror goodness. This one is called Divine: The Series and features a few players involved in Supernatural like Ivan Hayden (VFX Supervisor), Kirk Jaques (Stuntman) and actor Misha Collins.

We’ve been told Divine, “is about what happens when a young priest witnesses the resurrection of a strange man (Divine, played by Dan Payne). It opens the door for him to question about the nature of God, what is evil and that there are real supernatural forces in our world.”

Visit the official site for more.

• Someone on the set of R.I.P.D. captured this footage of Marisa Miller and James Hong during shooting. Miller and Wong are the avatars for Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds (the two are dead and their souls need mortal forms).

• The buddy comedy/slasher spoof, Caesar and Otto’s Summer Camp Massacre, is set for an September 9 limited theatrical release through Nocturnal Features, followed by an October 4 DVD release. You’ll have to check your local listings to see if it’s playing near you.

Director Dave Campfield and Paul Chomicki star as the title halfwit half brothers. They are joined by cult stars, Brinke Stevens, Joe Estevez, CKY lead singer Deron Miller. The movie also stars Felissa Rose in a role that lampoons her performance as a transgender killer in the original Sleepaway Camp.

• A “TV special” for the monster movie opening September 9, Creature.

• Tell me if you’ve heard this one before: A paranormal crew venture into a spooky old place…and find a real paranormal threat! That’s the premise of Hunter G. Williams and Scott Michael Campbell’s The Whispering Dead and we’ve an image to share. Check out the trailer here.

• Images and a trailer for the indie film The Poisoning by writer-director Zachary Eglinton. It’s all about a road trip that goes horribly wrong…and there’s no AAA to save ’em.

• Tim Sullivan is at work on One for the Road and he passed along this image of Danny O’Connor in the film.

• The latest Bloody-Disgusting selects is the Swedish slasher film Blood Runs Cold. Dig on the teaser below. The film is going to DVD/VOD. Stay tuned for a release date.
