Pinhead’s dad knocks new sequel
When Hellraiser: Revelations was announced, everyone questioned why a sequel was being made. The bottom line is that Dimension needed to hold on to the Hellraiser rights for a remake, and, in order to do so, the company quickly moved forward on a low-budget ninth film.
This new entry, hitting theaters in a limited theatrical run September 1, was directed by Victor Garcia and written by Gary Tunnicliffe (with a few other uncredited writers, we’re told). Hellraiser creator, Clive Barker, took too Twitter to make something clear:
“Hello, my friends. I want to put on record that the flic [sic] out there using the word Hellraiser is no fuckin’ child of mine,” he told his followers, adding in his own colorful way, “I have nothing to do with the fuckin’ thing. If they claim its from the mind of Clive Barker,it’s a lie. It’s not even from my butt-hole.”
So, there you have it. Although, if you’re a devote reader of this site, you knew Barker wasn’t involved already. If you missed the trailer, follow this link.
