Coverage round-up for the sci-fi horror film
How is this fair in any way? One of the best genre pictures of the year – Attack the Block, a film that mixes classic horror and sci-fi trappings and gussies them up with a South London flavor (I see it as Critters, Goonies with a bit of Trespass) – arrives on U.S. soil today. But good luck finding it. Sony’s Screen Gems is opening the well-reviewed flick in a total of eight theaters. That’s a damn shame, because it deserves a wider platform. If it plays well, maybe it will make its way into more theaters.
If you can find it, go see it (theater listings below). If you can’t, well, you can feast on our coverage until it does come your way. Watch our interview with director Joe Cornish HERE, and our chat with star John Boyega HERE. Also, READ OUR REVIEW.
