And will the live-action franchise continue?

Fresh from the Underworld Awakening panel at Comic-Con – which is happening at the time of this writing – series co-creator and director of the first two films, Len Wiseman, revealed that the Underworld is expanding.
An animated spin-off is in the works for DVD and Blu-Ray. Wiseman says it will be made available on a forthcoming Underworld box set.
During press for Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, there were rumblings from Wiseman and writer Kevin Grevioux that a television series was a possibility. It appears the animated spin-off was their best option. You have to wonder if Kate Beckinsale will commit herself to doing some vocal work for the project.
Asked if more live-action sequels are in the works, Wiseman responded: “We are all interested in seeing where things go. I never thought – doing the first one – that it would go where it has. I am all for taking the characters we know and throwing them into a new environment. I’m all in favor of more films.”
More as it comes in!
