Produced, co-written by Guillermo del Toro
[Editor’s Note: This interview was first posted July 20th. We’re dragging it back out, in case you missed it, for the film’s release this Friday!]
Last year at Comic-Con, Guillermo del Toro presented the first footage from the horror film Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, which he co-wrote and produced, and the movie was back at Comic-Con again, this time with new distributor Film District and actor Guy Pearce, who plays the head of the household. ShockTillYouDrop.com was able to sit down with Pearce for a brief interview about the movie.
It was a great interview to score, since Pearce hasn’t been able to do much press for the movie as he’s been busy shooting scenes for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, which he admits is a small part but he won’t say any more about it. (Believe us, we tried!)
In the video interview below, we talked to Pearce about the decision to do his first horror film, working with first-time director Troy Nixey and how involved Guillermo was in the project, amd working with the young actress Bailee Madison who really has to carry the film.
We also asked him about the possibility of him reuniting with director Christopher Nolan sometime in the future being that their earlier movie Memento was so pivotal in both their careers.
Check it out and look for more on Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark in the weeks leading up to its release on August 19
