Scott Reveals a Bit More About Prometheus

Metaphors and androids

Ridley Scott and his Prometheus stars Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender attended CineEurope (a European exhibitors expo). There, Scott dropped some more plot info.

“The (space) journey, metaphorically, is about a challenge to the gods… NASA and the Vatican agree that is almost mathematically impossible that we can be where we are today without there being a little help along the way. That’s what we’re looking at (in the film), at some of Erich von Däniken’s ideas of how did we humans come about.”

I love that everyone involved is dancing around the specifics of this film. If you missed writer Damon Lindelof’s quotes yesterday, check ’em out.

While at CineEurope, Fassbender hinted that he could be an android in the film, which opens on June 8, 2012.
